Filters

Filters are used in astrophotography to improve the detection and measurement of the number of photons of selected wavelengths of light. Filters of varying wavelength width or bandpass can be used.

Despite the fact at “Cluster One Observatory” we still use one shot color cameras (OSC), we combine observations obtained in RGB with Dual band-pass filters (hAlpha, OIII).

Currently we make use of the following filters:

At some point in the future, we plan to migrate to monochrome cameras and make use electronic filter wheels to observe in palletes such as SHO or HOO.
